<aside> đź“Ś Goal: Our team is vital to making our event successful. We need to fundraise at least $20,000 for prizes, swag, and other costs. The more money that we have, the better our event can be (prizes, speakers, etc.)

Overview of Steps:

  1. Check your assignments in the Sponsorships tab of the Outreach Tracking Spreadsheet.
  2. Fill our all the assigned rows completely! Find email addresses using the resources below.
  3. Draft your email in Gmail using Streak CRM. Please make sure that they are in the right format as we do not want to send out weird emails!
  4. Schedule send the merged messages from your personal Hack+Policy Foundation email (not the team one)! - make sure to cc (carbon copy): [email protected] as well.
  5. Bump and follow-up with the company. (If they do not respond within the next few days!)

Finding Email Addresses:

These are a few resources that I've found that works well; make sure to install them on your Hack Vancouver email!

  1. Hunter.io (for bigger name emails)
  2. Adapt Prospector (is a plugin, can find people on LinkedIn)
  3. Clearbit Connect (is a chrome extension & used in Gmail; please make sure to check that you are sending it to real people since this database is old!)
  4. Norbert (first 50 emails are free - maybe sign up using your personal email as well!)
  5. LinkedIn (you can always stalk employees through their company page and find their personal information!; or use LinkedIn Sales Navigator Lite)
  6. Just going on business’ webpages and clicking the “Contact Us” button should be helpful as well. For some companies (ie. GitHub, Make School, Wolfram Alpha etc.) There is always a form that needs to be filled out for sponsorship requests, so make sure to be on the lookout for these as well.
  7. Email Permutator (Make a copy of this file to use it. If you are looking for a specific contact, and are unable to find them on Clearbit, input their first name, last name, and domain (company website) in this spreadsheet. On the right, a list of potential emails will be generated. Paste these into your “Recipients” section of your email, and with the LinkedIn Sales Navigator extension enabled, hover over each email until you get a match. A good sign is if the email has a profile picture!)
