Hack+Policy Foundation is an internationally registered youth-led nonprofit organization, registered in Vancouver, Canada and Fremont, United States.

In our previous year, we have successfully hosted MERGE 2021, the world’s first and largest hack+policython, gathering 500+ intercollegiate students from 45+ countries. Last June, we also hosted a smaller-scale event, MERGExIndia. This event focused specifically on solving the issues caused by the coronavirus crisis in India. This event consisted of 250+ participants from 30+ countries, and we hosted a variety of speakers including professors from IIT Bombay.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between technology and humanities for social impact. Technology is advancing faster than our ethics can keep up. By organizing our events and programs, we can equip the next generation of world leaders with the knowledge and tools to help them succeed.

An increasing number of youth are interested in making a difference in the world, but the majority of them aren’t given the opportunities and resources to get started. Furthermore, hackathons are often geared towards more STEM-oriented youth — essentially barring less “technical” thinkers from participating

At Merge, we believe that all youth have the potential to make an impact. By encouraging participation from students with different interests, we strive to bring fresh new perspectives to the table and stimulate innovative thinking. We hope to start important conversations, spark innovation, and most importantly, bring like-minded people together to work towards a better future.
