Introduction

Hi there! First and foremost, thank you for choosing to be a mentor at the first iteration of Merge – we are grateful to have you! As a mentor, you will be helping participants with any problems they are facing during the event. Whether it be a technology or policy issue, it is your job to help the participants using your general and specialized expertise.

Mentoring During The Event

Step 1: Check-in on the Mentor Schedule.

• A Mentor Schedule will be provided to you at the start of the event after all mentors confirm their availabilities
• Before you start mentoring, please check-in on the Mentor Schedule to indicate that you are here
• If you are available to mentor outside your timeslots, please do!

Step 2: Get on Zoom and start mentoring!

• You will be provided with a Zoom link to join
• On Zoom, each mentor will have their own breakout room and an organizer will assign participants to you by putting them in your breakout room
• If you encounter any problems, please notify the organizers that are managing the mentor rooms

<aside> 💡 TIP: For a more engaging and interactive experience, you can ask to meet and discuss with participants on the Gather platform. There are whiteboards available at each mentor table on Gather for easy collaboration.
