Hello everyone, welcome to the closing ceremony of MERGExIndia.
My name is Byeongjun Moon and it is my distinct pleasure to serrve as the executive director of Hack+Policy Foundation. Since we've started this initiative 9 months ago, we've gathered over 750 students from over 70 countries, coming together to solve the society's most pressing challenges.
A few weeks back, my teammates and I were on a call discussing what we should do after MERGE 2021 – considering our very diverse organizing team, we thought we'd challenge India's COVID crisis to hopefully ameliorate the situation in India. This tight-knit event was a success,
We were all very glad to see all of the projects submitted as well as all the hard work you all put into them. Awesome work everyone! Before I continue, I'd just like to thank all of our organizers, mentors, judges and partners, which were policy for the people, hack+, and voters choose. All of this wouldn't be possible without all their support and of course, without you guys. Before we go onto announce the winners of each respective track, please allow me to introduce our closing speaker Dr. Sanjeeva Srivastava from the department of biosciences and bioengineering at IIT Bombay.
AFTER CLOSING SPEAKER FINISHES AND Q&A IS OVER
Thank you so much Dr. Sanjeeva Srivastava for your amazing speech and for taking the time to speak for us today. With all that said and done, it is now time to announce our winners for each of our tracks but before I do that, I will be announcing the winner of the $20 amazon gift card. Congratulations to [Ian Shin] for being our lucky winner. We'll be in contact with you shortly so that you may claim your prize.
Now for the moment you've all been waiting for!
Our winner for hack track is [healthrific: your health pal]
Our winner for policy track is [TextVac]
and lastly, our winner for our signature fusion track is [Blue Brigade].
Congratulations to all of our winners. Again, we will be in touch shortly for all of you guys to claim your prizes and all of our participants will be receiving a certificate in the time to come as well.
So, that brings us to the end of MERGE X India. Thank you all so much for taking the times out of your weekends and dedicate it to helping improve one of the world's most pressing problems. With all of our projects, we will be trying our best to get these to necessary government and foreign affairs officials so that we may see your change come to fruition! Before I let you guys off, I also wanted to introduce you guys to the Researchathon which is our partnered event and definitely worth checking out! We will also be posting the link to this in our discord so keep a look out for that.
That just about does it for MERGE X India. Once again thank you all so much for participating and please keep an eye out for future initiatives by the hack+policy foundation, as I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss out on them. With that being said, I wish you all a lovely rest of your day wherever you are and to keep on creating and pushing the change we want to see in the world. Thank you.
